The Moon
The moon just came in through my window
And lit up one half of my bed
And quietly laid down next to me tonight
But I wish it was you here instead
The moon just came in through my window
There must be a hole in the clouds
It's been a few weeks since the sun or the moon
Tried to come and the weather allowed
The moon just came in through my window
A beam shining right on my face
My window is pointing the perfect direction
And I’m lying in this perfect place
The moon just came in through my window
At this stage it's just about full
But one little piece on the edge there is missing
But that doesn't lessen its pull
And maybe it did it on purpose
The moon’s trying to say it's ok
Or maybe you sent it, or maybe I'm dreaming
They never come true anyway
Can't remember the moon when I met you
Even though we were under the sky
Late overlooking the city one freezing cold evening
Just like tonight
I guess I was paying attention
To what would be over too soon
But now I've got millions of years to remember
Tonight I'll just look at the moon
